Il ya un peu plus d’un an, je publiais ici même sur Angazamag la liste des dix dictateurs africains qui étaient au pouvoir depuis le plus longtemps. Depuis ce temps, pas mal de choses ont changé. Le vent des révolutions populaires au maghreb et la grande faucheuse sont passé par là.
Ainsi, le doyen Mouammar Kadhafi, le tunisien Ben Ali et l’Egyptien Moubarak sont sortis de la liste laissant la place à de jeunes loups qui assurent la relève. Ils ont ainsi permis aux plus anciens de gagner une place dans le classement, et de faire entrer trois nouveaux en queue de liste. Aucun cependant n’a encore pu atteindre le records de l’ancien président gabonais Omar Bongo, qui détiens le record Guinness de longévité au pouvoir, avec plus de 41ans à la tête du Gabon. Sachant que son fils Ali Bongo a récupéré le pouvoir après le décès de son père, les gabonais ne sont pas près de sortir des ténèbres.
Voici donc le cru 2012 du top dix des chefs d’etats Africains qui sont au pouvoir depuis le plus longtemps.
1. Theodoro Obiang Nguena Mbasogo
Pays: Guinée équatoriale
Au pouvoir depuis : 33 ans.
2. José Eduardo dos Santos.
Pays : Angola
Au pouvoir depuis :33 ans.
3. Denis Sassou Nguesso.
Pays : Congo Brazzaville
Au pouvoir depuis : 30 ans (1977-1992 puis 1997-aujourd’hui).
4. Paul Biya.
Pays : Cameroun
Au pouvoir depuis : 30 ans.
5. Yoweri Museveni.
Pays : Ouganda
Au pouvoir depuis : 26 ans.
6. Roi Mswati III.
Pays : Swaziland
Au pouvoir depuis : 26 ans. Le pays royaume étant une monarchie, on ne peux pas le considérer comme un réel régime autocratique.
7. Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
Pays : Zimbabwe
Au pouvoir depuis : 25 ans.
8. Omar el-Béchir
Pays : Nord-Soudan
Au pouvoir depuis : 23 ans.
9. Idriss Déby
Pays : Tchad
Au pouvoir depuis : 21 ans.
10. Issayas Afewerki
Pays : Érythrée
Au pouvoir depuis : 19 ans.

Pourquoi rester tant d’années au pouvoir? pour quel résultat? c’est finalement la dictature qui s’ensuit. Oh! pauvre Afrique.
